Wow, how amazing to be able to travel without having to carry your ski gear with you! Save money buy not flying your skis to Whistler, but instead rent from Black Tie. They met me at the hotel with several different skis, boots and poles to choose from, then they pick them up from the hotel after I left. It was so wonderful! I would highly recommend this service to anyone traveling in to Whistler, it is so much better and easier than transporting your own gear. They came to our room and within minutes the skis were fitted to our own boots. We were given a card and told to call them if we had any problems. They couldn't have been more helpful. As we were there for 2 weeks we asked for our skis to be serviced after the first week, and they were collected and returned overnight. Fantastic professional service. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company. Coming from sea level, that's enough activity to knock us out on our first day. Having Black Tie come to the condo with options and excellent equipment could not have been any easier. We spent years standing in line at the resort rental shop for an hour or more and were often met with an employee who seemed like he or she would rather be anywhere else. With Black Tie, we consistently get great customer service. The best part - instead of wasting time standing in line, everyone gets fitted while I cook breakfast. I initially chose to use Black Tie because we were only skiing for a few days and were arriving late at night, so I didn't want to spend a lot of time waiting in line at the rental shop the first morning. After this experience I would use them even if I had a ton of time to spare! They were so friendly and knowledgeable. The whole process only took about 15 minutes from start to finish and we were on our way. On our last day we just gave them a call and they came to the condo and picked up our stuff. You order online and tell them some information about shoe size and ski skills and then they come to your condo/hotel/lodge and deliver your skis. You can exchange them anytime if conditions change and when you're finished skiing and ready to go home, you leave them outside your condo/hotel/lodge and they pick them up. Excellent service and very friendly people. I would recommend using this service any time you are traveling out West and need ski rentals. You won't be disappointed. We are intermediate skiers and swapped out one set of skis to help us turn easier - no problems and they went out of their way to find us the best replacement.
